Map of Lost Connections

June 2025

This interactive network visualisation is a part of my Master's Thesis, exploring how algorithmic systems and typical social-media interfaces shape our digital experiences. The map seeks to challenge the passive, linear, and filtered 'feed' by reimagining social media as a collective, interconnected network. A map that zooms out from our filter bubbles and revalues the early ideals of the internet: decentralised access, connection, exploration, surprise, and a fertile ground for digital serendipity. Algorithmic forces do not favour connection, let's change that. (best to visit on desktop)

Silsom Boom

June 2023

The 'Silsom Boom' is part of a study exploring how a viewer can interact with a digital, three-dimensional environment. It is an interactive installation that uses a Kinect Azure to track the X, Y, and Z position of a hand and, based on that position, projects a flashlight in a virtual forest within the virtual space. The intention is to minimize barriers between the individual and the environment, creating an aesthetic experience where the user feels connected to a fictional, digital fairy forest, allowing them to explore it themselves. The digital forest is a collage of 3D scans from the Silsombos in Erps-Kwerps and existing scans from libraries on the internet.

Materializing the Invisible

June 2022

This was my first experiment using Touchdesigner Software, where I created an interactive projectory installation at the Spatial Computing Lab in Luca School of Arts. The premise was to ‘materialize the invisible’. The concept of time became the central point of this installation. It depicted the silhouettes from people that visited the space, with a delay of 2 minutes. Through this method, you would be able to look ‘into the past’, to people that visited before you, or yourself from 2 minutes ago.

Visual Lexicon

June 2023

These 3 animation videos are visual representations of three fundamental concepts in Chemistry, specifically focusing on atomic structure: the atomic nucleus, atomic orbitals, and atomic radius. Using primitive shapes as a ‘visual vocabulary,’ an attempt was made to visually depict a complex concept like ‘atoms.’

Stelplaats Cares

March 2025

'Stelplaats Cares' is a project started by Laure Robenek, who hosted two brainstorming sessions where young people, experts, and various collectives came together to reflect on how Stelplaats could become a safer place for everyone. From these sessions, six core values emerged — not strict rules, but flexible guidelines that resonate with the diverse group of people who visit Stelplaats. I was given the challenge of translating these guidelines into an accessible and visual form. After exploring various concepts, the idea of a set of "traffic signs" emerged — a universal, clear visual language understood by everyone. Each statement received its own illustration — not as a prohibition sign, but as a friendly and visual invitation to awareness. In this way, the design evolved into something that fits perfectly within the atmosphere of Stelplaats: not imposing, but accessible and recognizable.

'Idol'

June 2023

This series of drawings represents a character study for a fictional Goddess, my ‘Idol' Goddess. A character study of my marionette, where I discovered a strong interest in objects or structures that share similar qualities with the body I keep drawing. This woman is depicted as a sort of idol. She naturally had something frightening and spiritual about her. For me, she now represents a mythical being, a princess from another world. 'Idol' is a series of charcoal drawings on white paper, ranging from A3 to A0 size (the first two).

Klub Dramatik Festival 2025

June 2025

Textile installation for Klub Dramatik Festival 2025. Together with Eline Dewit, we had the amazing opportunity to build an off-space, hidden in the woods of Klub Dramatik. The space was meant as a calmer sanctuary, an alternative environment to escape the high energy of the dancefloor, for those who needed some rest, a big or small talk, a nap, or just some recharging the legs in between dancing.

Horst X Nachtplan Design Lab

October 2022

In October 2022 I participated in the Design Lab week organised by Horst and Nachtplan, at Stelplaats in Leuven. Our focus was to build a visual identity for this new club, that didn’t exist yet. The workshops were guided by Nana Esi & Sophie Keij from Atelier Brenda. As I like to work a lot with textiles my goal was to bring something tactile into the club, supporting the graphic identity created that week. I created these pillows based on scetches we made on the first day. It was an experiment to see what people would do with them, and how they would be used during the party.

'The Womb' at Horst Club 2024

September 2024

The womb is a soft, serene space inviting you to take a short nap within the heart of the 24-hour Horst Club. It’s a cozy hideaway where time slows down, letting you recharge before heading back to the dance floor. Just a heads-up: shoes off before entering and no drinks allowed - trust us, you would not want to be the one who spills on the beautiful textures! The scenography was thoughtfully created and designed by the internal Horst team and the creative hands of Emma Caers, Eline Dewit, Lea Ware, Zoe van der Pas and Martha Delagrange.

'Cribbe' at Affair Open Air 2024

August 2024

Together with Lea Ware and Laure Robenek I created this 'chill space' at Affair Open Air in August 2024. We wanted the space to be a safe haven for people to lay down, talk or chill next to the party. The main concept was that of a 'cribbe' (a babies crib), a space to let your inner child flourish, leaving all of your 'adult' conventions, ideas, shame... etc. behind. We also asked poetry artist Helena G. (@kid_on_fuzz) to write a poem as an introduction to the space, a moment for reflection before entering. The Cribbe was locatede in a pit, hidden in the forest next to the party, consisting of 2 levels with a long entry-way that was filled with 'childish' decorations and mobiles, made with second hand children's toys and other reused objects.

'Glitch of the Damned'

November 2023

'The Art of Promptism'

For the ongoing Dieric Bouts Festival 'New Horizons' in Leuven, I worked together with Roos Vanbergen and Julie Vanlook to create images inspired by Dieric Bouts' paintings, using AI. Inspired by the creatures in ‘The Fall of the Damned’, we created our own using Midjourney. Putting the artworks of a traditional Flemish master in contrast with the more modern and ‘shitty’ internet 3D graphics from the early computer ages gave an interesting outcome. The result was a series of stickers, for the visitor to place on an AI generated 'Dieric Bouts' background.

What's your sign?

January 2022

This collection of magnets questions traditional restroom icons, that are outdated; they are hostile towards non-binary or trans people, reinforcing outdated gender stereotypes and reducing gender identity to our bodies and clothing. These restroom ‘avatars’ challenge the standardization of what makes an icon an icon and are intended to embody the individual rather than the group. ‘What’s your sign’ also refers to the question ‘What’s your starsign?’ a ‘mundane’ but super popular question among my peers. It points to how our generation is fixated on individualism. Before entering the toilet, you can assamble your own sign.
